Mint and lime blossom mojito

recette de mojito à la menthe et tilleul

By Nathalie Beaudoin Hta, N.D. | Photo and Design: Mariève Tremblay

PREPARATION: 10 minutes YIELD: 6 servings

Ingredients

  • 500 mL (2 cups) water

  • 60 g (1/4 cup) sugar

  • 2 tea bags (6g) of FloralTea Lime tea

  • 500 mL (2 cups) lime-flavoured sparkling water, cold

  • 180 mL (3/4 cup) tequila (optional)

  • Lime wedge, to taste

  • Fresh mint leaves, to taste

  • Spearmint syrup or crème de menthe (with or without alcohol) for color, to taste

  • Ice cubes, to taste

Preparation

  1. In a small pot, boil the 2 cups of water with the sugar until it is completely dissolved.

  2. Remove the pot from the heat and let the 2 bags infuse, covered, for 10 minutes.

  3. After the infusion time, remove the tea bags (or loose plants) and let the mixture cool in the refrigerator. Save the tea bags for 2 to 3 more infusions.

  4. In a pitcher, combine the sweetened infusion, sparkling water and tequila.

  5. Add ice, mint and lime wedges. Pour the mojito into glasses.

  6. Add a few drops of syrup or creme de menthe to each glass, for color if desired. Serve immediately!

TIP - adding lime will turn our lime infusion brown. Since lime is an essential ingredient in a successful mojito, simply add a few drops of spearmint syrup or creme de menthe to compensate until you have a mojito of perfect flavor and color.

"Brimming with fresh lime and mint leaves, the mojito is the perfect beverage to cool off with during the summer season. With its delicious taste of lime, mint and lemon verbena, this new version of the popular drink will quickly become your favorite. Versatile, our mojito is delicious with or without alcohol as a cocktail, aperitif and digesto.

Linden is a medicinal plant that the whole family will enjoy because it is pleasant, soft and sweet. Its flowers have calming, relaxing and sedative properties. Peppermint helps to relieve digestive disorders such as nausea, bloating, flatulence and to regulate the internal temperature of the body. As for lemon verbena, it has a tonic digestive effect and slightly calming.

This summer, quench your thirst with a delicious mojito while enjoying the digestive and relaxing benefits of our linden flower tea.
